We did it! Our very first Balls to the Wall Comedy Show on November 14th was a hit, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick things off. The night was full of laughs, flying balls, and an energy that made us forget (almost) how cold it was—it just happened to fall on the coldest night of the year so far.
A Night to Remember
Here’s how it all went down:
- A Brave Crowd: Despite the chill, the Nameless Saloon crowd bundled up, grabbed drinks, and got ready to make comedy history. People were swapping their drink tickets for red and green balls, gearing up to pelt their favorite (or not-so-favorite) comedians.
- Hosts with the Most: Our hosts, ChadO and Zach Leboza, kept the energy high, the crowd engaged, and the balls flying.
- Comedians Who Brought the Heat:
- Tony Cruz had everyone cracking up when he encouraged a woman in the crowd to take her best shot. He danced and dodged like his life depended on it—it was pure comedy gold.
- Josh Castro broke the ice by inviting the audience to “throw some shit at him.” It didn’t take long for the balls to start flying, and had everyone laughing as he hilariously reacted.
- Jason Mott got some laughs and said he enjoyed the experience, and had a lot of fun.
- Lee Cross brought a great set and barely got phased by flying balls
- Jake Coulter was appreciative of the opportunity and said it was “awesome”
- Charlie G pushed through despite admittedly getting rattle by audience members approaching aimed with balls.
- Marshall Loether came from out of state, and wow’d us with a string of fuck-yeahs!
- Nick Bermea closed the night out with a bang.
- A Live Stream Learning Curve: We live-streamed the event on ATX Comedy Review’s YouTube channel—but unfortunately, the sound didn’t record. Big bummer, we know. But hey, first shows are all about working out the kinks, and we were focused on making sure the live audience had the time of their lives.
- Captured Moments: Thankfully, I was able to grab some of the best moments on video, and we’ve got some soundless footage as a fun little keepsake.
What Made It Special?
The mix of comedy and audience participation created an atmosphere that was equal parts hilarious and unpredictable. Whether it was the laughter, the flying balls, or the comedians trying to dodge and deliver punchlines at the same time, it was an experience like no other.
